Annual National Conference – Easter 2026

NEU Annual Conference is held during the Easter holidays.

The NEU Annual Conference 2026 will take place at the Brighton Centre from March 30 to April 2, 2026.

We are allowed to take 20 delegates, and at least 50% of the delegation should be women members (we have exceeded that).

Our conference delegation is full and was voted on during the last Staffordshire NEU General Meeting, and we are taking one “observer” (as a reserve delegate).

All accommodation is booked, and other expenses (including travel) are covered (within HMRC rules).

If you are interested in joining us at future conferences (e.g. Annual Conference 2027) keep an eye out for emails or revisit this webpage in the autumn term.

There are also sector and equalities conferences you can take part in (e.g. LGBT+ Educators Conference, Black Educators Conference) – details of these will be emailed to members who are registered in those sectors/equalities strands on the myNEU system.

Annual Conference Motions

Below is the booklet of motions written by members and districts across the country.

We will be proposing Motion 076 – Defend the right to protest. This means Staffordshire will make the first speech on this motion.

The motions in the booklet are now ready to be amended by Districts – with a deadline of 11:59pm on the 27th of February. If you have any suggested amendments, please contact us and we will help you format and submit.
