On the 16th of May 2025, Staffordshire District held the Annual General Meeting.
This is a vital meeting, where we elect our district officers for the next academic year (Sept 2025 to Aug 2026).

We elected our delegates to the West Midlands Regional Council for Sept 2025 to Aug 2026.
We also agree the local district budget, decide the local levy (the part of your membership fees that comes to Staffordshire), agreed our affiliations to other organisations and made donations to charities.
We have agreed to affiliate to:
- NorSCARF
- North Staffs TUC
- East Staffs TUC
- Cuba Solidarity
- The Big Ride for Palestine
- North Staffordshire Miners Wives Action Group
- Beit Leqya Friendship Group
- Palestine Solidarity Campaign
- Care4Calais
- The NEU Trust Fund
- Steve Sinnott Foundation
- PHANS
Members and officers brought motions to the AGM and we agreed to make donations to:
- The NEU Trust Fund (£2000)
- Trans Rights are Human Rights
- Good Law Project (£500)
- Lichfield Refugee Aid (£250)
- Care4Calais (any unspent funds from the annual Staffordshire NEU Care4Calais delegation budget)
- Disasters Emergency Commission – Myanmar Fund (£500)
- The local WASPI group (£400)
The AGM also has a social side, as networking between members is a vital part of engagement. So, we enjoyed a meal and a chance to talk. This resulted in lots of supportive conversations, and engagement (we had 2 members considering nominating themselves to join the Cuba delegation).
We saw a lot of new faces… which is very encouraging for the future of the NEU in Staffordshire.
