NEU Health & Safety Reps Training Part 1 (Days 1 & 2)
June 18 – June 19
This course is for newly elected NEU health and safety representatives at workplace level as well as those H&S reps who want a refresher and Branch/District Officers and workplace reps who want to know more about what the H&S rep role involves.
This is an in person course, run over 4 days – *Please note that you are required to attend all four days to complete the course*
The aims of this course are to help you to:
- develop a trade union approach to health and safety
- understand the framework of health and safety law
- identify strategies for organising around health and safety in your workplace
- develop the skills and knowledge to carry out your role effectively
Trade Union H&S Reps have a legal right to paid time off to attend training in their role. Any problems with this please contact your branch or Regional/Wales office.
The NEU funds the entire cost of this course, including accommodation if required, travel, and contribution towards child/elder care if needed. If you have any questions or specific requirements, we are happy to discuss on a confidential basis. Please email west.midlands@neu.org.uk.
