Below is a list of the Pride events Staffordshire NEU are hoping to take part in this year… either organising or helping another district.

Last year we made it to three events, this year we are hoping for FIVE (and possibly MORE!) – I will update this post with new information and photos throughout Pride season.
For those Staffordshire is organising (so far Stafford and Lichfield) I’ll be emailing out to members over the coming months, to gather volunteers to host stalls and take part in marches.

Birmingham Pride
This year Birmingham Pride was held on Saturday the 24th & Sunday the 25th of May 2025
This is the BIG event in the West Midlands region, and it launched Pride across the West Midlands.
Each year the NEU takes part in the parade on the Saturday (a open top, double-decker party bus) and Staffordshire members are invited to take part, joining up with members from across the West Midlands districts.
This Pride presence is being organised by NEU West Midlands Organising Forum reps.
I have been 3 years in a row… (I’m top-left in the “PRIDE” cap – in the traditional “End of Parade” photo).
Though I couldn’t make it this year, we did have representatives from Staffordshire taking part.
It’s great fun and I would recommend taking part in 2026!
June
Wolverhampton Pride
Wolverhampton Pride is the celebration of the city’s LGBTQ+. We work together as a community to bring alive the festival for everyone so we can educate, demonstrate and celebrate LGBTQ+ inclusion in our city.
Wolverhampton Pride was held on Saturday the 7th of June, in the Market Square. The Pride Parade travelled through the City Centre.
This Pride presence was being organised by Wolverhampton District.
This is the first year I have attended on behalf of Staffordshire NEU, where I took part in the parade and helped out on the NEU stall.
Despite the on and off rain – a great day was had by all (including dancing in a plaza to a DJ set by on of the Pussycat Dolls).
Stoke Pride
Stoke Pride was held on Saturday the 21st of June, in Hanley Park.
This Pride presence is organised by Stoke-on-Trent District. I represented Staffordshire NEU, and supported the Stoke NEU stall at Stoke Pride.

July
Tamworth Pride
Tamworth Pride was held on Saturday the 12th of July this year.
We’ve not made it to Tamworth Pride yet (my band had a gig the same day for the last couple of years) but we were targeting participating this Pride as part of our expansion (unfortunately, we did not receive a response to my contact – but we will try again next year)
Lichfield Pride
Lichfield Pride took place on Saturday the 26th and Sunday 27th of July this year.
Staffordshire NEU has taken part in Lichfield Pride for the last 3 years on the Sunday, hosting a stall and taking part in the parade.
August
Stafford Pride
The second Stafford Pride took place on Saturday the 9th of August this year.
Staffordshire NEU did not manage to take part last year, but this year we were present… right by one of the main entrances, with a great view of the river…
Burton Pride
The first ever Burton Pride will take place on Saturday the 16th of August this year.
Staffordshire NEU are will hosting a stall… and this will be our final Pride event of the season.
