SUMMARY:NEU Reps & Officers: Equality in the Workplace Training
DESCRIPTION:In this one-day course\, we’ll cover the Equality Act 2010 in more detail and consider how we can use it to model inclusivity in our workplaces. We’ll?deal?with?the individual aspects of representation by challenging misconceptions and looking at scenarios through the lenses of equality and discrimination. Participants will be?introduced to the concept of bargaining for equality – setting the equality agenda in workplaces\, being?proactive on equality issues and?building?union strength to successfully create change.? \n\n\n\nWho should attend: This course is for branch/district officers and reps who have completed Reps Foundation. Ideally\, you will have also completed the Representing Members in the Workplace introduction to casework course. \n\n\n\nAs an NEU workplace rep\, you are entitled to paid time off to participate in the course.
