SUMMARY:NEU Reps Training (Foundation)
DESCRIPTION:As the NEU Representative\, you are members’ first point of contact with the Union. This essential course supports you in your role\, provides practical guidance and support for you and it is a key learning tool. It is developed specifically to reflect the changing educational landscape in which you will be operating as the workplace rep. \n\n\n\nThis course will enable you to: \n\n\n\n\nKnow your rights and the support available to you as a representative;\n\n\n\nExtend your knowledge and understanding of the Union and where you fit in;\n\n\n\nDevelop your skills and confidence to carry out your role effectively;\n\n\n\nEquip you with strategies to involve members and grow the Union;\n\n\n\nRepresent members individually and collectively;\n\n\n\nBuild your confidence in your relationship with school management;\n\n\n\nExplore current issues\, including the NEU’s vision for education;\n\n\n\nBuild campaigns in your workplace and your community;\n\n\n\n\nThe course will run for 3 days and delegates will be required to attend all 6 sessions to receive accreditation. \n\n\n\nAs an NEU workplace rep you are entitled to paid time off to participate in the course. \n\n\n\nFor further information\, please email: west.midlands@neu.org.uk
