SUMMARY:NEU Reps & Officers: Redundancy\, Restructure and Resistance Training
DESCRIPTION:This one-day course will take you through the steps of the redundancy process and legal time frames. \n\n\n\nWe’ll relate redundancy/restructure in schools to the wider context of school and education cuts\, examining what the impact can be on our members. Using a realistic scenario\, participants will plan a campaign of resistance focussing on collective and individual representation of members. Whether you are currently facing a redundancy situation in your school or college\, or you think you might in the future\, you’ll come away equipped with a solid plan for supporting members and resisting attempts by the employer to cut jobs and education provision. \n\n\n\nWho should attend: This course is for branch/district officers and reps who have completed Reps Foundation. Ideally\, you will have also completed the Representing Members in the Workplace introduction to casework course. \n\n\n\nAs an NEU workplace rep\, you are entitled to paid time off to participate in the course.
